My New Diet

Wednesday 16th Feb.2011

Today I've decided that it's time to start on a diet as I weighed my self again last night and I was 15 stone although I think that I don't feel that heavy...I was that weight after having Edward...Though I have to admit we all over indulged at Christmas..and seeing as it's almost Spring I think it's time that I/we did something about it..
So were back on salads soup chicken and veg, with a little pasta and rice...and potato's once a week...it worked last time and some more exercise  and couple of extra dog walks and baby walks...I think is needed..
Mind you the more I get out side will help me too...and of course I do have to be careful not to over do it...

I do feel  like i've put on some weight I lose nearly 2 stone just before christmas and felt really good too...But I/we did eat far to much and didn't do to much exercise throughout december....to cold and wet....well that was are excuse...not good really....

So as from today were back on our diet...and yes it does work...

I will be keeping a dairy on this page of how I'm/ were doing....
We'll be having a weigh in once a week on a Wednesday evening...so I'll keep up posted on how we are doing each week..and what we are eating....

Tonight we are on boiled rice with homemade sweet and sour pork, with  no fat on the pork all cut off...followed by a couple of apples....

So I hope this will help and encourage me and other people on a diet ...Good luck to any of you that are dieting I know it can be hard and you'll like me have days when you could eat lots of fatty  things ...I know I've had a few of those....last diet I did....

    John's also decided to join me on the diet as he needs to lose a bit of weight too...So we'll just have to encourage each other wont we....

    I going to start to us my exercise bike again...which will help my legs and hips ...

    Off to get dinner ready now...bye for now....

    Well dinner was very tasty amd filling, I've taken benji for a walk as well, it's gone really cold out there...

    Tomorrow we're on museli for breakfast homemade soup for lunch and fish and new potato's for dinner....
    And if it's ok weather wise tomorrow i'm spending as much time as possible out on the nursery, moving plants around..and potting up seedlings....

  3. Thursday 17th Feb 2011.

    Well today starts the diet properly, we've just had museli fr breakfast and later on this morning were all off for a nice walk, the weather is dull and over cast but dry.

    Edward is still in bed a sleep so is benji...I'm determined to lose at least 2 stone by my birthday at the end of April....I must do..this extra weight is not doing my joints any good and is putting extra pressure on them...which is not good....

    I felt very low last night...I didn't get much sleep either, kept on wondering how I'd got so heavy....I know why wrong kind of food and not much exercise throughout December didn't help...

    I'm going to spend some time out on the nursery today..more cleaning and tiding up to do..

    Were having chicken salad sandwiches for lunch followed by some fruit....

    I think writing how I feel on this page will help me get through this first stage...I need some motivation and I know John is going to help but, I need to do this for my self.....

  4. Thursday 17th Feb 2011.
    We had a change of plan for our lunch we had a omlette instead which was very tasty John made them....
    We also found all our weight watchers books which Johns mum had given us last year..we'd put them away to save space...bad move...

    We doing the points diet...it worked last time...you can eat most things but you have to weigh out your portions and you have a number of points for each day I can use up to 28 points and John has 32 points he can use each day...We do try not to use them all up each day...we can save some points for if we'd like a treat towards the end of the week...It's a really good way of controling exactly what you eat...of course Edward get everything he needs as he does not need to be on a diet there not an once of fat on him....anywhere....

    Jih is making dinner tonight kedigree with raw smoked mackrel and mushrooms onions and rice but it's all been measured out by me earlier...were on 5 points for dinner which isn't to bad...
    We'll be having friut for pudding as most fruit have no points on this diet...

    I'm still feeling quiet low regarding my weight..but starting to realise that this diet will be a good thing for both myself and John...

    We had a brisk walk in to town earlier which I did not enjoy and was in a lot of pain when we got back....took more painkillers and i was not in quite as much pain...

    I've had a short time out on the nursery today about an hour....did do alot jut a bit of sweeping up and moved a few pots around...

    Edward has been asleep all afternoon but now he's running riot in the lounge..and shreading paper everywhere after I've tidyed up....

  5. Thursday 17th Feb.
    Dinner was very tasty and we had quite a lot as well...we had an apple for dessert....

    We're busy planning tomorrow nights dinner as we want something special we call it confusion food as were having a bit of chinese abit indian and some mexican dishes....

    Breakfast and lunch are already sorted out, a treat for me of 2 coissants and John is having porridge...Not sure what we're going to have for lunch as yet but I'm sure it will be very tasty and filling...

    I'm starting to feel a bit better about this diet..and yes John is giving me loads of support...Tomorrow if the weather is ok we'll be going for a walk...and I'm going on my exercise bike for 10 minutes gentle excrcise...Lady Sarah

  6. Friday 18th Feb .

    All is better today with the diet...I've only used 15 points so far today...which is very good and I've treated me and John to some cider tonight which is only 2 points per pint...which really good for use two as we love cider....We've ate quite well today we had ham sandwiches for lunch and I cooked pasta with 3 meatballs each for our dinner, it was very tasty too....I had a apple for my pudding....
    I feel better today about the whole diet thing..more confident to get on with it too...

  7. Saturday 19th Feb..
    The diet is going ok I'm much more confident that it is going to work..
    We'd been eating quite well and I've not felt hungry at all...We went to my mothers for our dinner tonight which was very good...we had tomato and basil soup to start and the new potatoes carrots peas and homemade chicken pie for our main meal we had apple sponge pudding with cream for dessert it was very nice and we used our saved points so we could enjoy all our meal....
    Tomorrow it's back to soup for lunch and fish and salad for dinner....
    I also went on my exercise bike today and did 10 minutes on it which was enough for me today...as I have been in quite a lot of pain....

  8. Sunday 20th Feb.

    We had a good day on the diet today toast for breakfast soup for lunch and another treat for dinner John's mums game pie...well only and eighth of it each we had mash potato's and carrots and swede and homemade gravy...very tasty and we had yogurt for dessert....

    Tomorrow we're at the unit so it's soup and sandwiches for lunch not sure what we'll hve for tomorrow nights dinner though.....

  9. Wednesday 23rd Feb...
    Just had a weigh in I've managed to loose 4Lb in one week, not bad for the first week...Will try to loose the same again this week too....
    I'm just being careful of what we both eat and I'm still weighing out the food for each meal...So yes I think this diet might just work..I'm aiming to lose at least 2 1/2 stone by August for a friends wedding I might loose a bit more before then...I want to get back into a size 14...I was happy with my weight then....
    John is being very helpful and encouraging and to be truthful I haven't felt much like snacking between meals either....
    So I'll report back next Wednesday after my next weigh in....Lady Sarah.

  10. Saturday 26th Feb..

    The diet is doing really well, I've lost another couple of pound since Wednesday, Which I think is really good.

    Mind you I haven't been that hungrey the past few days I've in a lot of pain again...So I found that sleeping and resting really helps...I have to say that today though I'm rather hungry again...I've had some toast for breakfast and I having crackers and 10grms of cheese for my lunch, I think we'll have chicken and salad for dinner...Lady Sarah.

  11. Monday 28th Feb.

    Well I'm really pleased with myself, the diet is going really welland up to now I've lost just short of 8Lbs, and I've almost dropped a dress size too from a 20 down to and 18...So I'm keeping up with the doeit now...it's easy to manage and It's working fpr me and John he's lost 10Lbs so far...We are both feeling better for losing just a few pounds....and I've been back on my excersise bike again today just for 10 minutes but if I keep doing that each day it will help and maybe in a few weeks time I'll be able to use the bike for a bit longer...I'm just having to be careful because of my knees...
    i don't want another week like last week I hate not being able to do much, but that's what it like with my arthritis...I can have a few good weeks then back to lots of pain....anyway loosing this weight will help alot...and I'm aiming to keep it off this time....

    I'm back on cereal for breakfast now, and soup and crackers for lunchand a good weighed out meal for our dinner...tonight it's enchladas and couscous.and may be a bit of low fat garlic bread....

    I'll have to let you know what the weigh in is on Wednesday I'm getting quite excited to see how much I've lost over the past week...I'm aiming for and 4Lbs but not sure if I've done that this week...

  12. Thurday 3rd March.

    Great news Now weighing 14 Stone 6Lbs....which is very good news for me so I've lost 10Lbs so far on the diet...
    So I think we must be getting some thing right...Today i've had so far half a bowl oof sugar puffs (puffed wheat) and a hot ribena for breakfast and soup wilh a few crakers and 10oz blacksticks blue cheese...you should try to get it...the cheese is very creamy in tasty but doesn't last me long enough.....For dinner (tea) will be having a homemade pasta bake dish that I make...we all like it...lots of fresh tomato passata with herbs and garlic and mushrooms and onions...I might make some homemade garlic bread to go with it tonight....Lady Sarah.

  13. Friday 4th March.

    Having a good day diet wise. Wheat puffs for breakfast with a hot ribena and very shortly I'll be having a low fat cup a soup tomato flavour and a few crackers and 10 grms of cheese and I might just have a bag of low fat ready salted crisps too....folowed by a low fat raspberry yogurt...I'm not sure what we'll be having for dinner tonight probably chinese style pork and homemade egg fried rice....Well I haven't had a treat so far this week....

  14. Sunday 6th March.

    Well I'm very pleased with how my new diet is working, I'm starting to feel more energetic and starting to do a bit more every few days...
    We're having roast chicken with vegetables for our dinner tonight so is Edward, we had grilled bacon sandwiches for lunch which was a real treat as we've not had thoe for quite a few weeks...John is going to make dessert tonight an old favorite if ours semolina with jam....yummy, very few points in that as well....
    I've lost another couple of pounds so far this week and found that I need a smaller pair of jeans now as my other wont stay up with out a belt...
    I've also found that it's also getting easier to do thim=ngs outside on the nursery..although I still have to take my time and not over do anything or over stretch...As that makes everything start to ache again...

    Tomorrow myself and Edward will be walking in to town to do a bit of shopping and then we have a busy day on Tuesday again were off to crewe late morning then I have my assessment and then we've decided to go to bridgemere straight after that then on the way home were going to do the weekly shopping the of to the local diy store for some timber to start building the office which we will start on Wednesday...

  15. Monday 7th March.

    Well as it's such a nice day and I'm feeling rather better than usual I started the day on sugar puffs and a coffee (decaf) and I had a good walk around town with John and Edward for about an hour so I've had a bit of excercise this morning and I been out side for an hour this afternoon...I had a low fat cup a soup and a few crackers for lunch followed by a yogurt and I've made a low fat curry for our dinner tonight which we'll have before we both go out to meetings....As it's so nice I might take Edward and benji out for a short walk....
    It is really to nice to stay in all afternoon...

  16. Wednesday 9th March.

    Well the one good thing that's happened today is that I've lost another 3Lbs...I doing very well and on that point I'm really happy....As for the rest of me I'm just in so much pain..but I have to get on with it as Edward is ill too....

    I had my sugar puffs again for breakfast and I'm having a cup a soup again for lunch with a few crackers and cheese again and a nice yogurt for dessert...I'm not sure what to make for dinner as yet to early for me to think about that yet...

  17. Saturday 12th March.

    Well I'm very pleased with the diet I have lost another 3Lbs since Wednesday....

    I made a chicken cassorole last night which went down very well....
    Not quite sure what we'll be having for dinner tonight....

    I might go for a walk later with Edward and the dog and John when he gets back in he's gone up to the unit for the morning...He should be back by 1pm....Lady Sarah.

  18. Friday 18th March.

    It's going really well...I have lost another 4 Lbs this week and need to get some small sized throusers and skirts...size 16-18, I really pleased with my self...I'm just having cereal evry morning a very light lunch this week it's been a hot ribena and a low fat packet of crisp and 2 sugar free biscuits and an apple...Then for dinner I have a proper meal, last night was lean pork steak in chinese sauce with John's homemade egg fried rice...And it was very tasty...For dinner tonight I still not quite sure what we'll be having probably plaice with mash and parsley sauce....and a glass of cider for a treat...Lady Sarah.
